Building the BusinessWriter’s love to discuss writing, and Artists love to talk about their art.  Over the years I have heard several times that if you just concentrate on making the right art and you become very good the business side will take care of itself.

There is absolutely some truth in that, as if you have a quality product people will find you and eventually you’ll figure out how to make enough to sustain your art.  Still even  in the case of creative endeavors it is a product.  Creative products are also  art, such as a book,  a graphic novel, blog, podcast, movie, etc..

And although my primary focus for my first major writing project is the individual contributor, there is still a major component of business in my writing as the majority of individual contributors work in large organizations such as business.  This wasn’t by happenstance, it was  calculated decision because I enjoy business.

So naturally from the earliest inception the idea of creating my own version of art was intertwined with the business aspects.  No, i’m not doing this just for the paycheck.. there really is no paycheck when you start any new business.. well I guess there is if you can find an angel investor.  To that end i’ve decided to have another series of articles built around the business of this blog, the book I plan to write, and the other ancillary business associated with these core products.  I’m going to call them ‘Building the Business’ and the Building the Business posts are going to be about the business elements behind the blog, book, and everything else behind Peluso Presents.
