Trapped in your job because of golden handcuffs?
Trapped in your career, i.e. pigeon holed into a specific niche?
Trapped by health care requirements? Trapped by your health? Maybe you have a chronic condition? Bad back? Diabetes? Hypertension? Heart Disease? Cystic Fibrosis? or the monster?
Trapped by your bills, car payments, student loan payments?
Trapped by your kids… a biggie because it’s such a long commitment. I know from personal experience that if you discuss your child’s impact on your life in any meaningful negative way (even if it’s true) you run the risk of being socially ostracized.
The problem is getting out of the trap usually doesn’t involve an easy solution. It requires time, effort, and generally behavior that some may consider odd.. such as living in a mobile home when you can afford a nice mortgage, or driving a car with 300,000 miles on it.
There are tremendous traps in our lives. The best way out of them is to not get in them in the first place. We have to try and avoid them to the best of our abilities. The less traps we get ourselves into the more we can leverage opportunities that come our way.
