Today is 9-11

If you were born on September 11th 2001, you are 14 at the time of this writing..

I was a telecom sales rep entertaining a group of Worldcom middle managers at a Dave and Busters in Raleigh, NC when the towers fell. At that time I was a professional individual contributor.

In the intervening years I have experienced my nation in wars, recessions, and boom years.  Personally I have been married, had natural kids, adopted a kid (very different and yet very much the same as having a kid), relocated several times, had health problems, lost parents, went back to school and obtained an advanced degree and experienced all manner of other life events too numerous to mention here.  I have matured both professionally and personally.

Even with all this at the time of this writing (if not the time of this being published) I am still a professional individual contributor.

Much has changed, much has stayed the same.

6-11-2016 – Another update.  I did a study of my life and realized that 9-11 had a tremendous impact in my career, I just didn’t see it until I looked back.
